Music Monday!

I am totally digging Bobby Long lately. He only has two songs on i-Tunes right now, so those have been added to my writing playlist, but this one, Dead and Done Blues is my fav! Give it a listen! And check out his tour dates for the summer if you like, looks like he is going to be all over! (added bonus, he is such a doll!)

and also on the top of my list is Joshua James Lovers Without Love.

What's on my nightstand this week...and other random ramblings..

Lets see..work on my WIP (tentatively titled "Rootless Tree" for lack of a better title and the fact that it totally fits--plus Monica & I love the Damien reference!) is slow... last week I wrote over 10,000 words. This week, only about 3,000. I know where the story is going, but I am missing a few key scenes, and I CAN NOT write out of order (even the idea it just freaks me out) so I am slowly trudging along until I get to my next plot twist.

In other news, we got a new puppy this week! Her name is Daisy and she is a Mini-American Eskimo and she is precious! I'll try to get a picture of her up soon, although at just 7 weeks old, she is not one for striking a pose. She's doing great though, and we are so excited to have her in our family!

Ok, so what am I reading this week? I read another Elizabeth Scott book already called Love You Hate You Miss You. First of all, I have to say what a GORGEOUS book this was. It was smaller than a typical hardback book, but I loved the look of it. I told Monica that should DELICATE (my first YA novel that I am currently querying) ever get published, it would look great in this mini-format. The cover are was beautiful! I really enjoy Elizabeth Scott novels. I have said before what an easy, great read they are. You know I HATE to give a bad review, and in this case, I'm really not saying it was bad, it just wasn't as good as Bloom or Perfect You. It was still a decent read and had a great premise, albeit a little slow for my taste.

The second thing in my stack of reads for the week is Breathing the debut novel by Cheryl Renee Herbsman. I am only about 50 pages into this book, but I am loving it. I had heard that it was narrated by a very Southern girl with VERY Southern dialect, and it is indeed true. You can really hear the twang in Savannah's voice as you read. This book has gotten amazing reviews, I can't wait to have a chance to sit down and finish it! Hopefully tomorrow, we'll see!

The third thing I have set aside to read this week is a novel by a fellow QueryTracker. Elizabeth Allen's Who Got Liz Gardner?. I have heard great things about this book! I have read a couple of chapters and it is funny and real. Again, I can't wait to be able to finish it! Ms. Allen is an enthusiastic member of querytracker.net's forum, always giving helpful advice and critiques. I encourage you to visit Amazon.com and get yourself a copy! I think this book will appeal to a wide audience!

I'll even post a handy link so you can get a copy! :)
